Quick note to end 2025
A short life update, relocating home after 2 years abroad and finally getting to try one of the most coveted business class seats in the air.
Hey stranger, it’s been a while.
Hope you had a good Christmas and holiday break!
I took an unexpectedly long pause from Substack.
December has been a whirlwind month of activity—moving out, selling up, relocating countries after 2+ years abroad, re-settling back into life in Australia and going straight back to work the next day after landing!
This is a very quick update to end an adventurous and busy 2025, as we move into the next chapter of our life.
Qatar Business Class QSuites
The 38 hours journey home was a long one. Lots of airport time and in-air time.
But relocating home also means finally getting to try out the famous Qatar QSuites—a business class seat that is a must try experience.
I got to try the Qatar Qsuite in the middle of the plane for the 14 hour journey, where the two seats can be turned into a small 2-person private suite with sliding doors. Once the barrier between the two middle seats were down, it felt really spacious eventhough the physical space hasn’t really changed.
It’s a great seat for couples and families travelling together as you can turn it into a 2-person or even a 4-person quad suite.
On the second leg of our journey—the 10 hour flight—my husband and I opted for the window seat to try a different business class seat configuration.
(I’ll do a full breakdown on my take my personal experience in a future post)

In Transitions
Right now we’re still in between places—staying at a temporary accommodation— while we wait to move into our final spot in the new year.
It’s hard to get back into any routines, like exercise, cooking or writing, while I don’t feel settled into one place.
Rather than be frustrated with that, I’ve decided to give myself a bit of grace as the year wraps up and simply be present in the moment and not stress too much about consistencies and routines while we’re in this transition phase.
In the meantime I can’t complain about this beautiful view.
One last thought before you go…
I had planned to do a Travelling Lens Wrapped for 2025 in December to break down everything that happened in travel, photography and this newsletter in 2025. Along with plans for 2026.
But alas December has turned out to be busier than expected.
Instead, I’ll be doing the 2025 wrapped post in January. I’ll also be spending the coming days reflecting on the year that was 2025, and plan ahead for 2026.
I hope you have a safe and restful end to 2025.
Happy new year for 2026!
See you in the new year!
