Do you mean from a passenger experience, the challenge of flying in as a pilot, or the layovers that come after landing? Because my favorites vary depending on that!
Wow, you must get some stunning views out of the cockpit.
There used to be a photographer pilot I followed (don't think he posts any more on Instagram) that shared these stunning shots out of the cockpit window.
Can you take and share photos when you're on the job? That would be awesome to see.
And you should definitely write about your experiences with flying in and your approach, it's such an interesting niche.
Thanks! The views from the cockpit are definitely one of the best perks of the job, sunrises above the clouds, moonlit flights over the ocean…
I do snap photos from time to time (safely, of course!) and I’ve been meaning to share more of them. You’ve just convinced me to dig through my camera roll and start posting a few in upcoming notes!
And I really appreciate the encouragement. I’ve been writing more about the flying side of travel, especially for nervous flyers and it’s been rewarding to see how many people connect with it. Always happy to share more behind-the-scenes if there’s interest!
We were there last week and had a great 24 hours at the airport. It's fun to see the waterfall turn on at 10am in the morning, great way to start the day.
It's definitely an amazing place! When I was transiting through, I signed up for the free tour of the jewel and our guide took us to the tip of the jewel which gives you one of the most incredible views from the top. They even have a cool slide up there.
I have on several occasions. It is one of my favourite airports too. But I have not been since the waterfall was installed. I also want to visit the Gardens by the Bay too.
Singapore is a great place to visit and stay if one is not just transiting through.
Yes, Singapore has become expensive to stay. I think the problem is that it has become an Asia hub for conferences and events.
It is beautifully green and I love its tidiness. Most areas look really well maintained. I think you can still be fined heavily for not disposing of litter or chewing gum properly 😄
Yes, it's such a central and convenient location, and over the years the currency has grown really strong too, making it a fairly expensive place to travel to in Asia.
I love this airport! Number #1 really in the world!
Totally agree!
Do you have other airports you like based on all the flying you do?

Ohh I haven't thought about that before.
Would love to hear both perspectives!
Love that you’re curious!
From a passenger point of view: Singapore Changi is unbeatable like landing in a zen garden.
From a pilot perspective: Innsbruck, Saint Martin in the Caribbean Teterboro (NYC), and London City all make the heart race (in a good way).
The approaches alone could fill a whole newsletter... and sometimes, they do 😉✈️

Wow!! Can’t believe I have not been to this airport!!
If you come through Asia definitely try to fly via Changi!

Amazing! I love the variety of food at the airport and space to rest / work / relax.
Little know tip— if ur layover is 5+ hours at the Changi Airport they offer a free city tour with transportation via tour bus to enjoy while you wait!
That's a great tip! I've done that before! It's such a smart tourism move.
I didn't mention, they used to give transiting visitors $20 vouchers to use in the airport too.

That's really cool! Where were you travelling through to?

Gardens by the Bay is really good! I love how despite being a tiny metropolitan island, Singapore tries to make it green and interesting.
The main downside about visiting Singapore is that accommodation can be expensive!

Love the zoo and aquarium too!

Wow! That looks amazing! That's cool that it's attached to the airport.
Yeh! Changi is one of the most impressive airports in the world (IMO).
Layovers are never fun, but Changi tries to make your time fly by!
